Each of our screen systems are custom fabricated in steel using brake shaped parts and lineal welding. The emphasis in our screen design is on maintaining alignment and consistency with the windows and doors we are working with. The design can include slim TDL bars to match the adjoining products.

Each of our screen systems are custom fabricated in steel using brake shaped parts and lineal welding. The emphasis in our screen design is on maintaining alignment and consistency with the windows and doors we are working with. The design can include slim TDL bars to match the adjoining products.

The whole subject of screening requires careful consideration. With the variety of window and door types used in today's custom residence, there is an entire design exercise just to address the screening; along with the potential addition of roll down shades, blackout shades or sun shades.

More often screens are selectively used in each room to assure cross ventilation without necessarily screening every opening. When considering screens for steel windows and doors there is a concern with adding a screen and taking away from the simplicity of the steel products character.

Sliding doors are best fitted with sliding screen doors. Swing doors are also best fitted with pocketing sliding screen doors. Because of the thin swing door elements, adding a swing screen door will add serious bulk to the sightlines of the product. Windows are screened with narrow metal hinged screens, sliding pocket screens or pull down roll screens.

Sliding Screen Door
  • When used in a pocketing configuration, these are hidden until needed.
  • Allows for screening of very large openings.
  • When used in a non-pocketing configuration, the screen is always in the view.
  • Guide tracks in the finish floor increase as quantity of screens increase.

Centor Slide Roll Screen
( not available through Jada )
 
  • Nice system that can be added that pulls screen out from the jamb side up to 12' per screen.
  • Benefit is the ability to hide the screen when not in use.
  • Very well engineered system supplied by Centor.
  • Not available from Jada.. Purchase and integrate via Centor Dealer.
  • Design challenge to deal with the large elements of the screen system. Large aluminum box at each jamb as well as aluminum box at head and sill. Concealing these elements while still keeping everything accessible for repair is the challenge.
  • Limited screen mesh choices.

Swing Screen Door
  • Best when sliding pocketing screens are used.
  • Smaller swing door screens are quicker to operate for active traffic.
  • When swing screen door is used, extensions are necessary to create clearance for the door levers. This becomes very bulky and takes away from the thin lines of the steel doors.

Swing Window Screen
  • Our metal screen can be used with matching TDL and multiple screen mesh choices.
  • Metal screen has matching patina finish.
  • Screen is always visible when looking through the window.
  • Large screens start to feel floppy.

Slide Window Open
  • A metal screen can be used with matching TDL that can pull from a wall pocket, so out of view when not in use.
  • Metal screen has matching patina finish.
  • Excellent for large screens.
  • Not always room in the wall framing for the pocket.
  • Extra costs when creating pocket.

Pull Down Roll Screens
( not available through Jada )
  • Great solution for hiding screen when not in use.
  • Not available from Jada.. Purchase and Integrate via Roll Screen Dealer.
  • Difficult to reach draw bar on tall windows.
  • Requires customization to jambs and head metals to facilitate roll box and guide tracks with design sensitivity.
  • Sizes are limited for larger openings.
